Privacy Policy
Effective 6 October 2026 · updated to describe visit statistics
- The app collects nothing. No accounts, analytics, telemetry, ads or tracking. Scan results never leave your Mac.
- The website keeps simple, anonymous visit and download counts. It uses no cookies, doesn't store IP addresses and has no ads or trackers.
- If you donate, Stripe handles the payment and we receive the basic details of your donation.
1. Who is responsible
Phila (phila.in.th), based in Thailand, is the data controller for the limited personal data described here. We follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (“PDPA”) and, where it applies to you, comparable laws such as the EU/UK GDPR.
2. The Phila Clear app
Phila Clear runs entirely on your Mac. It reads file and folder information (names, paths, sizes and dates) only to show you what can be cleaned, and only acts on the items you choose. It does not send this information anywhere. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code, and it makes no network connections of its own. The app only opens your web browser when you click a link such as “Buy Me a Coffee” or “Website”.
If you grant Full Disk Access or enter your administrator password, macOS handles those permissions directly. The app never sees or stores your password.
3. This website
- Hosting. The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. It does so to deliver and protect the Site, and may keep this data in short-lived server logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Fonts. Pages load a typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google. See Google's privacy policy.
- Visit & download statistics. We count page views and installer downloads with our own cookieless code, which runs on Cloudflare. For each visit we record only the date, the page, the website that linked to us (for example facebook.com) and your country, which Cloudflare works out from your connection. To count daily unique visitors without identifying you, we combine your IP address and browser type with a secret value and today's date, and turn the result into a short one-way code. Your IP address itself is never stored. The code changes every day and is deleted after two days, so you can't be recognised from one day to the next. Visits from browsers that send “Do Not Track” are not counted. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing, in aggregate, how the Site and the app are used.
- No cookies, advertising or third-party trackers are used.
4. Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates (“Stripe”), on a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and handles them under its own privacy policy. We never receive your full card number. From Stripe we receive your name, email address, country, the amount and date of your donation, and the last four digits and brand of your card.
We use this information only to process and record your donation, to send a receipt, to handle refunds, disputes or fraud checks, and to meet accounting and tax obligations. That is our legal basis: we need it to carry out the donation you asked for, and the law requires us to keep records. We keep donation records for as long as Thai accounting and tax law requires, which is generally up to 10 years, and then delete them. We do not sell this data or use it for marketing.
5. Sharing and international transfers
We share personal data only with the service providers above (Stripe, Cloudflare, Google), or when the law requires it. These providers may process data outside Thailand, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers.
6. Your rights
Under the PDPA and similar laws, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. You may also complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee or to your local data-protection authority. To make a request, contact us through phila.in.th. For data held by Stripe, you can also contact Stripe directly.
7. Children
The Site and donations are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 20, which is the age of majority in Thailand, without parental consent.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will point it out on the Site.
